Embassy of Japan celebrated Emperor’s Birthday in 2026

On February 10, 2026, Ambassador Morino hosted a reception at his official residence in celebration of the 66th birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. The event was attended by numerous distinguished guests, including H.E. Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudairi, Deputy Governor of the Riyadh Region, as well as representatives of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, members of the diplomatic corps, and business leaders.
In his speech, Ambassador Morino emphasized the steady development of bilateral relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He referred to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the success of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai last year, and expressed his hope s for cooperation toward Riyadh Expo. He also highlighted the expansion of economic ties across various sectors, Japan’s efforts to attract foreign direct investment, and the continued growth of cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
During the reception, Saudi judoka with a Japanese coach presented their performance. Japanese companies in the fields of sports, healthcare, and food showcased their products and technologies.
