Japan Festival in Riyadh 2025 – A Flagship Event Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia –

The venue was filled with vibrant energy and excitement throughout the day
 The Embassy of Japan in Saudi Arabia, in co-hosting with the JETRO Riyadh Office, the Riyadh Japanese Association, the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), and the JNTO Dubai Office, held the cultural event “Japan Festival in Riyadh 2025” on October 31 and November 1 at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh. Over the two days, the festival welcomed more than 10,000 visitors.

Japan Tourism Promotion Area (Japan National Tourism Organization – JNTO)

 An area dedicated to Japan tourism promotion was set up by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), where visitors experienced traditional Japanese culture—including bonsai, tea ceremony, calligraphy, and kimono—alongside related stage performances. Through these activities, the booth showcased the tourism appeal of regions beyond the Golden Route, such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

Provided information on tourist attractions across Japan using brochures, videos, and other materials.

<Traditional Culture Experience Booths>

Bonsai Booth: Miniature bonsai-making workshop (featuring the tourism appeal of the Shikoku region)
Tea Ceremony Booth: Tea ceremony experience (featuring the tourism appeal of the Chubu region)
Calligraphy Booth: Calligraphy experience (featuring the tourism appeal of Gifu, Fukui, and the Hokuriku–Shinetsu region)
Kimono Booth: Fragrance sachet-making using traditional Japanese patterned fabrics (featuring the tourism appeal of the Kinki region)

<Performance Stage>

  • Japan tourism seminars introducing attractions of the Shikoku, Chubu, and Kinki regions
  • Stage performances showcasing bonsai, tea ceremony, and kimono
  • A Japan travel quiz competition for visitors
