Japan Festival 2024 in Riyadh

The Embassy of Japan in Saudi Arabia, in cooperation with JETRO Riyadh Office, the Japanese Society in Riyadh, and The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), held the Japan Festival 2024 in Riyadh on November 22 and 23 at Culture Palace in Riyadh, welcoming more than 8,000 visitors on both days.

The stage program drew a large audience. Details are as follows.
- Japanese drum performance by Japanese school students

the 15th Japanese Speech Contest in Riyadh


31 speakers participated in the 15th Japanese Speech Contest in Riyadh, held jointly with the Ministry of Education Saudi Arabia, and delivered high-level speeches. Ambassador Morino expressed his hope that the Japanese language students would serve as a bridge to further deepen the friendship and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Japan in his speech. Ms. Hanan Al-Zahrani, Director of Student Activities at the Saudi Ministry of Education, also expressed his appreciation for the organization of this speech contest in her speech.
All participants enthusiastically demonstrated the results of their Japanese language studies. Mr. Muhammad Rashaad, who received the gold prize in the advanced level, spoke about the role of Saudi nationals in promoting the attractiveness of Saudi Arabia at the Saudi Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka Expo, while Ms.Dana Al-Qarni, who received the gold prize in the beginner level, talked about her experience studying Japanese.
