The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho) - (MEXT) offers several different scholarships for Saudi students wishing to study in Japan. Especially there are 4 types of scholarships through our embassy.

Japanese Scholarship for Research Students
The Government of Japan offers scholarships to those who wish to pursue their post-graduate studies at Japanese universities. This scholarship program is part of the efforts by the Government of Japan to strengthen bilateral relations and mutual understanding between Japan and Saudi Arabia.
The scholarship will be provided for 24 months (from April 2010 to March 2012) or 18 months (from October 2010 to March 2012). Scholarship grantees will receive monthly stipend, in addition to a round-trip air ticket (economy class) to Japan. School tuition fees will be covered by the Government of Japan.
Applicants must be of Saudi nationality. (Those of other nationality should contact the Japanese Embassy in their respective countries.)
Applicants must be born on or after 2nd April 1975, and must be graduates from Japanese universities or have academic ability equal or superior to that of universities’ graduates.
Those who meet the above qualifications and wish to apply for this scholarship must read the guideline carefully and submit all required documents to the Embassy of Japan in Riyadh by 31th May 2009. Japanese Scholarship for Undergraduate Students
The Government of Japan offers scholarships to those who wish to pursue their undergraduate studies at Japanese universities. This scholarship program is part of the efforts by the Government of Japan to strengthen bilateral relations and mutual understanding between Japan and Saudi Arabia.
The scholarship will be provided for 5 years (from April 2010 to March 2015) including the preliminary instruction in the Japanese language and other subjects for one year. Students majoring in Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine will be provided with the scholarship for 7 years until March 2017.
Scholarship grantees will receive monthly stipend, in addition to a round-trip air ticket (economy class) to Japan. School tuition fees will be covered by the Government of Japan.
Applicants must be of Saudi nationality. (Those of other nationality should contact the Japanese Embassy in their respective countries.)
Applicants must be in the age group (born between 2nd April 1988 and 1st April 1993), and must have completed a 12-year regular course of school education.
Those who meet the above qualifications and wish to apply for this scholarship must read the guideline and submit all required documents to the Embassy of Japan in Riyadh by 31st May 2009. The Government of Japan offers scholarships to those who wish to study at a Japanese professional training college. This scholarship program is part of the efforts by the Government of Japan to strengthen bilateral relations and mutual understanding between Japan and Saudi Arabia.
The scholarship will be provided for 3 years (from April 2010 to March 2013) including the preliminary instruction in the Japanese language and other subjects for one year.
Scholarship grantees will receive monthly stipend, in addition to a round-trip air ticket (economy class) to Japan. School tuition fees will be covered by the Government of Japan.
Applicants must be of Saudi nationality. (Those of other nationality should contact the Japanese Embassy in their respective countries.)
Applicants must be in the age group (born between 2nd April 1988 and 1st April 1993), and must have completed a 12-year regular course of school education.
