<Ambassador's message>
It is my great honor to extend my warmest congratulations on the occasion of Saudi National Day on behalf of the Government of Japan and people of Japan.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Japan have been enjoying excellent relations ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations 58 years ago. Saudi Royal Family and Japanese Imperial Family have traditionally enjoyed good and cordial relations and the two countries have always been very important partners in the field of trade and investment.

Our relations have entered into a new phase this year. Prime Minister Abe visited Saudi Arabia. The key word for his visit was "from energy to synergy". That means Japan desires to expand areas of cooperation much further to all areas like national security, human development, renewable energy, efficient use of energy and water management to name just a few.

There are three guiding principles that we follow in our efforts to strengthen our relations. They are, "collaboration"," co-existence and co-prosperity" and " harmony and tolerance". We would like to work together with Saudi Arabia with the same principles in mind. We would like to live together with Saudi Arabia in harmony with the world. To realize this objective, we need active dialogues and enhancement of mutual understanding and tolerance. This is our future vision of the relations between Japan and Saudi Arabia.

In conclusion, let me once again congratulate the King of Saudi Arabia on the National Day. May long live the King and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
